Adrienne Egan is the only Certified Practitioner of the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy TM in the Republic of Ireland. Her practice is Dublin.
The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy TM (Maya Massage) are an ancient Maya technique of abdominal massage, handed down by mesoamerican healers, medicine men and midwives for hundreds of years. The Maya believed there was no separation between the body, mind and emotions and this technique reflects this rich healing tradition in which the client is taken care of on every level. The techniques were developed by Dr. Rosita Arvigo based on her apprenticeship with the Maya healer Don Elijio Panti and her own education, training, and research as a naprapathic physician.
The treatment comprises of an external, non invasive manipulation that repositions internal organs that have shifted from either trauma, pathology, heavy lifting, physical activity or general daily wear and tear on the body thereby restricting the flow of blood, lymph, nerve and chi. The body needs these flows to be in balance and harmony for optimum health. An imbalance in these flows can result in various types of symptoms for men and women.
When applied, the Maya Abdominal Therapy techniques guide internal abdominal organs into their proper position for optimum health and well being. The technique works by relieving congestion and blockages to improve the flow of chi and fluids of the circulatory, lymphatic and nervous systems to prevent the progression of chronic disease symptomology. Maya therapy improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen.
As with any other natural healing, Arvigo Techniques seek to restore the body to its natural balance.
