Those of you that have had treatments with me will know that I am keen to send people away with homecare strategies to support their wellness and health goals. This is an approach I like because it gives us an opportunity to really take care of ourselves and puts some control of our health and wellness back into our own hands. It is also a basic philosophy of the Arvigo approach, with the Self care massage being our most favourite and cherished skill we pass on to our clients.
One quite common presentation I see with clients are those that are missing warmth/energy from their core body. There can be varying reasons for this, depending on the individual. There are many ways to stimulate this energy and warmth in the body, Maya Abdominal Therapy, Acupuncture, Yoga etc….Whatever approach resonates with you is the right one for you to take.
There is also a passive way for you to take care of your core body and that is by wearing a Haramaki or Kidney warmer. Originating in Japan, they were first used as belly protectors by the Samurai soldiers and have evolved from those 12th century days to the multi purpose garment we have today. It helps maintain your core warmth, boosts circulation, warms up the gallbladder meridian, keeps the internal organs warm, aids digestion, promotes quality sleep, provides support during pregnancy and supports your lumbar spine. They are particulary welcome in the winter and early spring months providing an extra layer of warmth too!
I highly recommend them, and if you get one do come back and share your experience!
